I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and obtained my Master’s of Counselling degree from City University in 2021. Throughout my personal and professional journey, I have come to realize that people are resilient and capable - we have all the resources within to overcome challenges and create a life that is meaningful and fulfilling. However the pressures of modern living often leave us tired and disconnected from this inner wisdom which lead to feeling stuck, dissatisfied, and can contribute to experiences of mental health conditions. As your counsellor, I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where we will take the time to get to know you. A space where you can be yourself, a space to breathe, grow and connect with your inner wisdom. Together we will create a plan to help you meet your goals for wellness. My approach to counselling is holistic, client-centred and eclectic. I draw from mindfulness, emotion focused, DBT and CBT modalities. My style is gentle and the approach I use will vary depending upon your unique goals and ability. **Not taking on new clients until February 2024**
Walking alongside you on your journey to living a well-lived life would be an honor. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Care and a Masters's Degree in Social Work. I am registered with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (16247). For the past ten years, I have worked with individuals, children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds, specializing in providing therapy to children and youth dealing with trauma, anxiety, relational and behavioral challenges. I approach my clients with warmth, respect, and understanding. Although I have training in specific therapeutic modalities such as EFFT, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, etc., my approach is eclectic and fits with a client's strengths, values, and experiences. I practice from a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach rooted in anti-oppressive practice where I help clients move forward in a good way by providing tools for awareness while recognizing their intrinsic ability to heal. As a lifelong learner, I am committed to ongoing professional development, allowing me to be genuinely present during sessions, and equipped with the knowledge and skills to support those I work with.
