How to apply for First Nations funded counselling

Mental Health Coverage f​or Individuals with Status


If you have status you may be eligible or up to 22 hours of counselling funded by the FNHA. For more information on the First Nations Mental Health Benefit visit their website www.fnha.ca where you can also obtain a complete list of Registered Counsellors in your area.    


If you would like to apply for funding please email Shannon at mapleridgecounsellingservices@gmail.com with the following information:    


1. Your full name 

2. Your status number 

3. Date of birth

4. Email address and phone number

    

Once we have received this information we will submit a request for funding to the First Nations Health Authority on your behalf and once we have obtained approval we will contact you by email to book your first session. Please note that we cannot begin counselling without PRIOR approval from the First Nations Health Authority.  If you have any questions please feel free to call or text Shannon at 604-220-6572

How To Apply For funding through the Métis Counselling Connection Program

Background


Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) first launched the Métis Counselling Connection Program (MCC) on February 17th, 2021. The goal of  this program is to help Métis Citizens by offering to cover the  expenses of up to 10, 60-minute counselling sessions for those with  financial needs, to support them in their mental wellness journey. 


The program is open to all Métis Citizens.
